Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 21, 2026

StoryLapse is built around one principle: your data is yours and yours alone. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of your personal data, photos, or content. Period.

1. No Data Collection

StoryLapse does not collect any personal information. There are no user accounts, no sign-ups, no email addresses, no names, no phone numbers. We do not know who you are, and we have no way to identify you.

2. No Tracking or Analytics

We do not use any analytics services, tracking pixels, advertising identifiers, or any other form of usage tracking. We do not monitor how you use the app, what features you use, how often you open it, or anything else about your behavior. There is zero telemetry.

3. Local-Only Storage

All data created by StoryLapse, including your photos, stories, reminders, and settings, is stored exclusively on your device in the app's local storage. Nothing is uploaded to any server, cloud service, or external system. We have no servers that receive your data. There is no cloud sync, no backup service, and no data transmission of any kind.

4. No Third-Party Sharing

Because we do not collect any data, there is nothing to share. We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any information to any third parties. There are no third-party SDKs in the app that collect data on our behalf.

5. Device Permissions

StoryLapse requests the following device permissions, all of which are used solely for the app's core functionality:

  • Camera: Required to capture photos for your stories. Photos are saved directly to the app's local storage on your device.
  • Photo Library: Required only when you choose to save an exported timelapse video to your camera roll. This is initiated by you and does not grant us access to your existing photos.
  • Notifications: Optional. Used only for reminder notifications that you configure. Notification scheduling is handled entirely on-device.

6. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. Deleting a story permanently removes all associated photos and data from your device. Uninstalling the app removes all StoryLapse data. There is no data on our end to delete because we never had it.

7. Children's Privacy

StoryLapse does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because there are no accounts, no tracking, and no data collection, the app is safe for users of all ages.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Our commitment to collecting zero data will not change.
