Terms of Service

Last updated: March 21, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using StoryLapse ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

StoryLapse is a mobile application that allows you to capture daily photos, organize them into stories, and generate timelapse videos. The App operates entirely on your device. There are no user accounts, no cloud services, and no server-side components.

3. Your Content

All photos, videos, stories, and other content you create using the App ("Your Content") belongs entirely to you. We do not claim any ownership, license, or rights to Your Content. We have no access to Your Content and never will. Your Content is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party by the App.

4. Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for Your Content and how you use the App. This includes:

  • The photos and videos you capture and create.
  • Any content you choose to export or share outside of the App using your device's native sharing features.
  • Ensuring your use of the App complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
  • Maintaining backups of Your Content. Since all data is stored locally on your device, losing your device or uninstalling the App will permanently delete Your Content.

5. No Warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall StoryLapse, its developers, or its affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of photos, loss of videos, or any other losses arising out of or related to your use of the App.

Because the App stores all data locally on your device and we have no access to it, we cannot recover any lost data. You acknowledge and accept this risk.

7. No Responsibility for Content Loss

StoryLapse is not responsible for any loss of photos, videos, stories, or other content, whether caused by device failure, software updates, accidental deletion, uninstallation, or any other reason. All content exists solely on your device. We do not provide backup, recovery, or restoration services of any kind. It is your sole responsibility to maintain copies of any content you wish to preserve.

8. No Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or process any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no telemetry. For full details, please see our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

The App itself, including its design, code, and branding, is the intellectual property of StoryLapse. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not extend to modifying, distributing, or reverse-engineering the App.

10. App Store Terms

Your use of the App is also subject to the terms and conditions of the platform from which you downloaded it (Apple App Store, Google Play Store). In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the platform's terms, the platform's terms shall prevail to the extent of the conflict.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Upon uninstallation, all data stored by the App on your device will be permanently deleted. We reserve the right to discontinue the App at any time without notice.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining Terms remain in full force and effect.
